CJ? dogs on eBay now

Post by LittleRockRob » Wed Jul 16, 2014 5:17 am

There is a listing on eBay right now of 3D plastic dogs that I don't recognize as CJ. The seller claims they are F4100, but I know they are not. They might be F6660 but I don't know. Any help?

Thanks for the heads up, Rob! This same seller has had those dogs up with the same claims several times before. I don't believe they are Cracker Jack. I have lots of pictures from COSI visits and can't find any of those dogs in any of them. Hope Jim D. or Alex will post on this.

I know this guy and he actually donated several CJ items to COSI here in Columbus when he bought the contents of the warehouse when Borden sold the Cracker Jack brand to Frito-Lay.

This guy has all kinds of paperwork and even used to have relatives who were associated with Borden.

When Borden sold the brand, they emptied the contents of a warehouse floor. They were going to throw the boxes of old prizes in the dump but this guy rescued them.

Check out the bottom of the page;

Cracker Jacks used Hong Kong copies of Tim-Mee dogs as prizes.

This same seller has offered the original Cracker Jack baseball players too.

I think I bought some baseball payers from him. They were red. Although made from similar molds, they vary slightly. I will bring them to the convention for comparison of the experts. I think I also have the dogs, etc.

Hi Shirley,
So happy you will be at Convention. The baseball players used by Cracker Jack were only gray or blue. The same molds were used to produce red ones (they even left the C.J. Co. on the back!), but they weren't prizes. If I remember right, they were attached to a card and sold as a set in dime stores.
