Question about old picture

Post by trclark »

Found this picture from the early 1920’s of my uncle sitting on the porch of my grandfather’s store. Can anyone tell me if this is a Cracker Jack box he is eating from?

That's a wonderful photo, thank you for sharing it.

I'm not an expert on the boxes, but that looks like a box of Checkers. Very similar to Cracker Jack, and some argue that it had better prizes. I believe Cracker Jack bought out Checkers in the 1920's & continued to sell it for years, so in a sense it could be a Cracker Jack product. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on the subject will weight in with more/correct info for you.

It's not a Cracker Jack box. My guess is Checkers, too.

Regardless of what was in the box it certainly is a darling photo. What a precious piece of your family history. :)
