Yes, Alex. A big, rousing congratulations are in order for you. When I was writing the "Spotlight on a Collector" articles, many, many CJ collectors reported they first became interested in Cracker Jack prizes because they were so inspired by your book. That should make you feel really grrrrrreat!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Thank you for your talents.

Count me in as one of the ones whose meager Cracker Jack collecting became an obsession when your book was published Alex! Thank you for your willingness to share your knowledge of Cracker Jack and the excitement of Cracker Jack Collecting with CJCA members over the years! Gail

Hi, fellow C.J. Collectors :)

Thank you all for the kind words you have posted here about my book.
The making of the book was a long process but well worth it for the hobby. I wanted to thank everyone who bought the book with a special item I have in my collection. The following picture is what the original cover was going to look like. It was painted by a professional artist and almost made it to the printer. The Abbeville Press people rejected it at the last minute. The Sailor Jack and Bingo is her own interpretation and over the years I have grown to like it very much. I own the original art and two working models, this picture is one of those working models.

I want to add my congratulations, and thanks, and appreciation. Gosh, twenty years! If you'll recall, Alex, I contacted you and Harriet after writing Borden and receiving a short list of collectors with your names on it. You and Harriet were so enthusiastic and welcoming that it was your Cracker Jack passion was contagious, and I was soon on the hunt.

If you remember, this was right before your book came out, and I ordered mine directly from you rather than from the bookstore. Your were so obliging with a special request, and as a result I am the proud owner of THE signed copy numbered #1. Your passion for collecting Cracker Jack and the resultant book has resulted in so much joy and, better yet, wonderful friendship!

You know, of course, we're all anxiously awaiting your second book. By the way, can I get you to sign and number the first one #1 for me? I need to have the complete series, don't you think?
