Need good home for large collenction

Post by casmithmn »

I'm coming into possession of hundreds of of Crack Jack prizes that my mother collected as a child in the 1940s. She has strong sentimental ties to this collection and really wants them to end up in good hands. I was wondering if anyone has ideas about where we might donate them -- or know of a collector who might wish to buy them. I don't have any photos at the moment; the collection is currently being shipped to me. But I will share these when I receive it. Thanks so much for any guidance or ideas you can provide!

Hello and welcome to our forums,

How exciting to hear of your mom's collection. It is difficult to know just how to or where to sell her collection. Once you have the prizes and are able to post a few photos, that would certainly be a good place to begin. E-bay is always a pretty good place to start as well. And as more of our collectors see your post here, that may generate some interested parties for you.

As for donating them, have you considered a local museum or displaying them at a library? I don't know what types of opportunities are available in your area.

Good luck in finding the perfect home for your CJ treasures. Do visit us again!

Hi, Diane. Thanks for your response -- all good ideas! I will post photos on this site next week. I'm most interested in ensuring this collection goes to someone who will value it, so it's great to know this community is out there. Appreciate your reaching out!
