I don't know how rare they are, other than the paper version is harder to find than the plastic version. A fellow CJCA member, Jim Davis, has a nice page about them on his website members.cox.net/jeepers/woof.html.

I have two in my collection, and if you join the CJCA, I'll send you either one (your choice) for free. If you're interested here's the link on how to join -> www.crackerjackcollectors.com/joincjca.htm.

Oh for Heaven's sake! I didn't know this little guy was called a "wiffenpoof." I thought he was just a rather whimsical little mouse. Wiffenpoof! I love the sound of that word. Gosh, there is so much to learn in just one little lifetime.

I just read Jim's article on the wiffenpoof. How fun! I now look at the two wiffenpoofs in my collection with a greater amount of respect. One of mine is a bluish-gray marbleized and the other is a mauve marbleized.

OK, everybody, it is time to let the Wiffenpoofs of the World rest while we all go stuff our turkeys!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks Luke and Diane. That was fun to research. Actually, I had forgotten most of what I found out at the time about the Woofies.

I have since then captured a chartreuse and yellow marbled one.
