Hello!

Hi, I just joined the forum.

My wife got a printers tray last year and we've been going to antique shops to find small knick-knacks to place in it.

I ran across a few antique cracker jack prizes, which I'm now actively collecting. My focus is on the 1910's and 1920's metal japanned standups. I've got about 10 pieces so far.

I also bought Larry White's book to learn more about them.

Other than ebay, are there any good places to find the early metal pieces?

Thanks,

Don

Hiya Don,

Finding prizes takes a little luck, and a lot of looking. Estate sales, flea markets, and antique shops are all good places to find old Cracker Jack prizes. I'm always hearing stories from collectors who find a rare metal Cracker Jack prize for $5. I don't know if it's luck or good karma, but some are better(luckier) at finding treasures. For me, eBay and going to the Cracker Jack convention and buying items from fellow collectors is where almost all of my prizes come from. I should get out more and do more prize hunting, I think I have my New Years resolution for 2013. Best of luck in your hunt!
