Misc. Cracker Jack pictures

Post by David »

I thought I would post some interesting RPPCs and photos that I have recently acquired. One day I will find a box from the 1912-1918 period. However, until that time comes, I am happy with collecting pictures of the boxes.

RPPC from 1904-1918 (based on stamp box on back). There is a Cracker Jack ad on near the ceiling.

RPPC from 1904 -1918. There is a display of Cracker Jack boxes in the right window.

Hi David,

Thank you for posting the great pictures. I love each and every one of them. It would be interesting to know how the gentleman in the first picture lost his leg. My history lessons fail me. Would that have maybe been a World War I injury or maybe a farm machinery accident? And in the closeup of the "Staples and Fancy Groceries" window, are those fresh pineapples in the window? Or am I seeing the image incorrectly? The U.S. would not have had fresh pineapple during that era, would they? My Mom, who was born in 1918, always said the only pineapple she ever saw as a child, was in a can.

Thanks again, David. Your photos are truly treasures.

P.S. Since we don't have a pineapple icon, the best I can do is Mr. Banana.

Hi, David :hiya:

A great group of pictures of Cracker Jack as a prop! :)clap

Each of your pictures are delightful in their own way! The two young boys with the Cracker Jack boxes is my favorite but what are they both wearing over their shoulders! :humbsip:

Hi David: I love the photos....and I have an original box. My great grandfather was FW Rueckheim, my uncle, Robert, who died at age 6 was possibly Jack, my mother's brother. Where did you find the photos. My mother died in October, Jane Rueckheim...
and it appears that I am the only one in the family who has maintained interest in Cracker Jack. I have FW's ledger from 1929....
Thanks for sharing your photos. Marty Rudolph

Hi Marty,
You and I exchanged some information several years ago. I was not successful in trying to follow up so very happy to see your posting! There are other Rueckheim family members who belong to the Cracker Jack Collectors Association. We would all love to hear and see anything you would like to share! So happy you have maintained an interest in our passion - Cracker Jack! Gail
