Festivus, a secular non-commercialized holiday celebrated on December 23. Made popular on the TV show Seinfeld. It is celebrated with an unadorned aluminum "Festivus Pole" in place of a Christmas Tree. The celebration also includes the "Airing of Grievances", "Feats of Strength," and "Festivus Miracles".
Serving as Fesivus Poles, two mold stems that at one time held Cracker Jack prizes.
The Fesivus Pole:
Cosmo Kramer: "And is there a tree?"
Frank Costanza: "No, instead, there's a pole. It requires no decoration. I find tinsel distracting."
Frank Costanza: "It's made from aluminum. Very high strength-to-weight ratio."
Wow! Festivus! You must be one of many Seinfeld geeks , Luke. Gosh, and Festivus Day is just around the corner. I'd better run out to Hallmark and buy my Festivus cards. Thank you for alerting us to this very important holiday, Luke. And I wish all of you a Festivus Day filled with happiness and strength.
