tank or halftrack
tank or halftrack
Howdy, new member looking for a childhood prize. I remember a plastic metallic blue 2 piece tank or halftrack as a treasured possession in my youth, chassis and revolving turret. Does any one remember this one? have a pic? or one to sell? thanks, toyer
Re: tank or halftrack
Welcome to the forums. How large was it? Tiny like a Cracker Jack prize, or larger? Can you give us the decade or year that you had it?
Re: tank or halftrack
1950's or early 60's, about an inch long
Re: tank or halftrack
Are these what you're looking for? They were made by a company called MPC. Your best bet in finding them is eBay, or contacting the person who runs Toy Soldier HQ, his e-mail address is at the bottom of the following page ... http://www.angelfire.com/biz/toysoldierhq/MPC1.html

Nope, I'm pretty sure it was CJ, possibly gumball? I want it to be CJ though
Re: tank or halftrack
When you first mentioned movable turrets, I was thinking anything but Cracker Jack. I just remembered that in the 1960's Cracker Jack experimented with prizes and there were a few that had moveable pieces. So it's very possible that they made it. Unfortunately all of the smart people are at the convention this weekend in Chicago. Hopefully when they get home they can answer this thread, and help resolve this mystery.

I remember an open frontier wagon with 4 separate wheels you pushed on to pins on the wagon bed (5 piece) and I think I remember a winter version with sled runners you plugged on bottom of wagon (3 piece) both in the same metallic blue plastic. Both about an inch long.Toyer

There is a plastic Cracker Jack Half Track tank and it did come in metallic looking colors. Also a wagon and sled, like you mention. I will try to take a picture of the tank in the next few days and post it here for you. Excellent memory! Mine is unassembled, so I can't rotate it around, but I'll bet it does.

Thanks Cyndy. I knew that when the smart people from the convention returned home that we'd have an answer. I hope you had a great time!
