Match stick toy

Post by sunsale »

I have a toy i was told as a child came out of Cracker Jacks. Im 68 and it was old when i played with it.. It is a pistol with a flat lead handle and a brass tube with a spring cocking mechanism to shoot a wood matchstick. Unfortunately the lead pistol grip broke and was lost in a move. The picture ,i have drawn in the missing handle to the picture. Can anyone tell me if in fact this was one of the early toys in Cracker Jack and if so what year?
I have a picture but cant figure out how to post it here. If you would like to see it i can email it or you can try my website www.sunsale.com . I posted a pic of it there. Any information regarding this toy would be appreciated.
Thank You

I can't find an exact match in looking at Cracker Jack archives, but just looking at it, it sure looks like Cracker Jack to me.
