Whitman books

Post by billrob23 »

Hi there-
A friend gave me a small box full of tiny books with Terry and the Pirates, Dick Tracy, etc. Some say Whitman 1938. See pictures below.
I think they are from crackerjacks, but I'd like confirmation. I think they are great, but they're not in my collecting focus, I collect comics. I've seen some on eBay - is that the best way to resell them?

Thanks for any info!

These are just fabulous collectibles, but were not Cracker Jack premiums. Whitman produced higher quality booklets and the Cracker Jack Co. was always very price conscious and usually unwilling to pay any kind of royalty or trademark fees to use licensed characters. That said, you will have no problem finding a buyer on eBay or similar sites. Thanks for the post; these were great to see!
